Contributor Terms
The terms that apply when an individual or organisation contributes to a One Million Africa campaign.
1. Nature of a contribution
A contribution supports the selected campaign under its published terms. It does not buy an ownership interest, investment, financial return, prize, entry, ticket, chance to win, or any guaranteed personal benefit.
2. Your representations
When you contribute, you confirm that:
- You are legally permitted to make the contribution and to use the payment method you choose.
- The funds are not proceeds of unlawful activity and are not being used to evade sanctions, fraud controls or legal obligations.
- You have reviewed the campaign description, how the funds will be used, the refund terms and any applicable fees.
- You understand that project outcomes can change and that impact is not guaranteed.
- You will not use the platform for chargeback abuse, money laundering, impersonation or fraud.
3. Processing and records
Contributions may be processed by third-party payment or mobile-money providers. We may keep transaction, fraud-prevention, consent and accounting records, and may share information with service providers, financial institutions, professional advisers or authorities where permitted or required by law.
4. Refunds and reversals
Refund eligibility is governed by our Refund Policy and the specific campaign's terms. Duplicate payments, processing errors, unauthorized transactions and cancelled campaigns are handled under documented procedures. A completed contribution is not withdrawable on demand.
5. No tax-deductibility promise
We do not represent that a contribution is tax deductible unless the applicable entity, campaign and jurisdiction support it and it has been confirmed by qualified tax advisers.
6. Acceptance
When you contribute, you acknowledge these Contributor Terms, our Privacy Policy and the campaign's disclosures. We record the version you accepted and the time of acceptance together with your transaction.
